You will be seeing a lot more of Liam Woodford around Toowoomba from today.

The 17-year-old aspiring barista is the smiling face on YellowBridge QLD’s new commuter van that will help people with a disability travel to medical appointments and social outings.

YellowBridge collected the 10-seater HiAce van from Toowoomba Toyota who has generously sponsored the van for at least two years as part of an exclusive vehicle partnership.

The sponsorship also includes a second vehicle for the not-for-profit organisation and support for its newly opened disability social enterprise, Collectables.

YellowBridge chief executive officer Penny Hamilton said the new van had already been dubbed ‘the happy bus’ by staff and clients.

“They are so excited and cannot wait to take their first trip in the new van,” Mrs Hamilton said.

“This van will be so well loved by all of us. It will make a huge difference to our disability support program and the assistance we can provide our clients.”

“We are thrilled and so grateful to Toowoomba Toyota for being such wonderful and generous partners. Their support is really unbelievable.

“Our philosophy is all about working together and we’re really pleased to have found a like-minded partner in Toowoomba Toyota to help us continue the important work we do in the local community.”

The van comes with a specially fitted wheelchair ramp to cater for all clients no matter their type of disability.

It will be used by the YellowBridge Disability Support Program to transport clients to various appointments and outings as part of their community access service.

Toowoomba Toyota has a long history of being a generous community supporter and this latest partnership is testament to their ongoing commitment.

Dealer Principal Brett Motton said Toowoomba Toyota was proud to be involved in initiatives that benefit the local community.

“We take our business and social responsibilities very seriously and supporting the local community through partnerships like this one is important to us,” Mr Motton said.

“Supporting others is part of our business DNA and it is our way of showing our gratitude to the local community for their ongoing support of Toowoomba Toyota.”
